Q:
Does Text Request have any contracts?
A:
Text Request is a subscription software (also called software-as-a-service, or SaaS). You pay for Text Request month-to-month, and if you ever feel like cancelling, then simply ask us to cancel your account. There is no contract you have to sign to use Text Request. If you are a high volume (enterprise) customer and would appreciate an annual contract, we are willing to work with you on that. Visit our contact page to continue the conversation.
Q:
Can I use Text Request with my current business (office) number?
A:
Yes! You can use Text Request to send and receive texts through your current landline, voice over internet protocol (VOIP), or toll-free business number. Double check that your number is eligible for Text Request on our Landline Texting page. If you have multiple numbers you'd like to check, or any questions you'd like to ask, please contact us.
Q:
When do I choose which phone number to use with Text Request?
A:
Right after you sign up and pay for a Text Request account, you get to choose your phone number. You'll be prompted to either use your current business number or get a new number from Text Request. Follow the steps to finish getting set up! If you're wanting to add multiple numbers to your account, follow the steps to set up your first number. Then, once you're inside your Text Request dashboard, go to your Text Numbers menu option to add more.
Q:
What happens if I send more texts than what comes with my plan?
A:
Every Text Request plan comes with all of our features and a certain number of texts included. The Basic plan, for example, comes with 2,500 messages. What happens if you're on that plan but need to use more than 2,500 texts in a month? No sweat! You will not be capped, and you will not be penalized for sending extras. You will just pay for what you use, based on your current plan. The Basic plan's text rate is 4 cents per text (or $0.04). So if you need to use 2,600 texts instead of the allotted 2,500, you'll just pay an extra $4. For more details, view our Pricing page.
Q:
Can I use Text Request with my cell (mobile) phone number?
A:
You cannot. Mobile phone numbers already have SMS / text messaging abilities, so we cannot add Text Request's dashboard and features to it. You can, however, use Text Request with your current business number. And you can login from your phone to send and receive messages, or use our iOS or Android apps on your phone or tablet.
Q:
What happens if someone calls my Text Request number?
A:
It depends. If you've added Text Request to your current business number, calls will go through the same way they always have. Nothing changes to your voice services. If you've gotten a text only number from Text Request, callers will hear an automated message telling them the number they've just called is for texts only and giving them another number they can call if they wish to speak to someone. Text Request does offer call forwarding on request for a small fee. If you're interested, please contact us.
Q:
Can we use Text Request with multiple business phone numbers?
A:
Yes. Every Text Request account comes with one line, but you can add as many lines as you want to your account for a small fee each. Additional lines act as additional dashboards that can all be managed under one account. You can add multiple business or office numbers, such as direct dials, or you can get multiple text only numbers through Text Request.
Q:
Does Text Request only work on a desktop or laptop computer?
A:
Text Request works on any device. Simply login from a browser on your computer, tablet, phone, or other internet connected device. We also have mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as a Chrome browser extension. We offer Text Request on an unlimited number of devices for all accounts.
Q:
Does Text Request integrate with my contact database (CRM, ATS, etc.)?
A:
Probably! Text Request extensive APIs make it easy to integrate with most customer relationship mangers (CRMs), applicant tracking systems (ATSs), and other contact databases. We also have a Zapier integration, which makes it easy to plug Text Request into over 1,000 online tools. And we will soon be releasing direct integrations with Salesforce, PC Recruiter, HubSpot, and more. For integrations questions and API documentation, please contact us.
Q:
Will Text Request let me text from my email?
A:
Yes and no. With Text Request's Chrome browser extension, you can click on any phone number inside your email service provider (or any other page online) to text that number. You can also receive email notifications whenever a new text comes into your Text Request account. However, you cannot send emails as text messages through Text Request.
