How to Turn On Email Notifications for New Messages

It’s important that you know when new text messages come into your account, because most people expect replies within a few minutes.

If you’re someone who has their email open in a tab all day, or just want another kind of notification to make sure you never miss a message, email notifications might be a good option.

Note, though anyone can receive email notifications, only Administrators and Managers can access this feature. For more details, view our User Permissions page.

How to Turn On Email Notifications

Up to 5 email addresses can receive email notifications every time a new message comes in to your text number. Anyone’s email address can be used, but we recommend sending notifications to users who should be actively managing your Text Request account.

 

Follow these steps to turn on email notifications:

  1. Go to the Email Notifications tab of your Settings menu option.
  2. In the Add a New Email Recipient section, enter the email you want to receive notifications.
  3. Click Add Recipient.
  4. Repeat as needed.

How to Turn Off Email Notifications

  1. Go to the Email Notifications tab of your Settings menu option.
  2. Locate the Email Notifications section.
  3. Click the “x” next to the email address where you no longer want to receive notifications.

If you don’t want anyone receiving email notifications, click the “x” next to all email addresses in this section.

Remember that email notifications - like all settings - are only active for the text number under which they are created. To turn email notifications on or off for each text number under your account, repeat the steps above for each of your text numbers. For more details, view our Text Numbers page.
