SMS Subscribers: Grow Your Contact List

SMS subscribers convert at a higher rate and stay subscribers longer than email. Here are three ways to entice people to subscribe to your list, so you can increase engagement and revenue.

1. Share on Social Media

Customers who follow you on social media want to engage with you.

They’ll most likely want to text you too. Create a post that shows them how to join, then sit back and let your new subscribers come to you.

Advertising a keyword in the post will be the simplest route to help them subscribe, like:

“Text DEALS to get exclusive updates on new products.”

Include an offer for exclusive deals or breaking updates to give customers a reason to opt in. Once they text that keyword, they'll then be added to a Group that you can message again and again.

2. Ask at Checkout

If you’ve already got their attention, why not ask em’?

Their purchase is fresh on their mind, and they’ll most likely be interested in what else you have to offer.

Keep the ask simple. It could come in the form of:

  1. An option for the customer to include their number at the ecommerce checkout

  2. Your rep asking the customer for the number at a brick-and-mortar checkout

Offer an exclusive reward, like one 15% coupon every week or month, to keep customers who subscribe hooked. 

3. Tap Email Contacts

Drop email subscribers a line about your new SMS newsletter.
