How Landline Texting Works

A behind the scenes look at how we add today’s tech to traditional phone services.

Not magic, just great software.

Two Sides to Every Line.
Every number has a messaging side and a voice side that function separately. We route the messaging side of your number through Text Request, so you get all our messaging functionality without affecting voice services. Pretty cool, huh?
10DLC Registration.
“10DLC” = 10-Digit Long Code, which is just an industry term for a standard phone number. We’ll register your number with mobile carriers, so you can send verified messaging traffic. That’s great for you, and for your contacts.

Setting Up Your Number

We’ve made the process simple, and our team is always here to help if you have questions.
Add texting to your business landline numbers.
Creating Your Account. When you sign up, you’ll be prompted to set up your number. We’ll verify you own the number and ask you to sign a letter of authorization (LOA) giving us permission to route your messages through Text Request.
Adding Additional Lines. We call phone lines “dashboards” inside Text Request. An account Administrator can always add more to your account at any time. You’ll follow the same process as when you created your account.

My favorite part was that we got the option to text from our existing business number, so our clients wouldn’t need to remember, or save, multiple phone numbers.”
